Reintroduction!

Back at it again! I created this blog a while ago, mainly to keep family and friends updated on my New Zealand adventures during a semester abroad.  With our recent exodus from facebook, I've decided to pick it up again as an easy way to share anecdotes and one or two of the hundreds of pictures I take of our son :-)

Older posts: I have un-published (I am super blog-savvy here...) a few old posts that were dramatic and a little more personal than I wanted to share in this new context, but I've left a few harmless ones.  I left all my posts from New Zealand, but I will warn you right now...they are reeeeaaalllly loooonnnng and drawn out.  I even get bored reading through them and they are my memories!  The rest are pretty random, but there is one post in particular that I just recently discovered.  I completely forgot about it until I was going through all my posts earlier this week.  It's the one titled 'A Letter' from April 2009.  It is basically a letter to my future husband and, among a few other things, I say, "Oh, and I'm praying for that job I applied for.  Maybe you should too...maybe it will bring me to you."  I did end up getting that job and on my very first day of work, I met the man who, 2 1/2 years later, would become my husband :-)  It's so amazing to realize such incredible answers to prayers!

To any confused family members or friends: In an effort to decrease our interwebs "footprint", we've developed some code-names.  I am Hannah (a title character from a Wendell Berry novel), my husband is Jayber (another title character from another Wendell Berry novel) and our little guy is Zork (the name of a stuffed alien I made for our son before he was born).

And last, but not least, I would like to introduce my 3 month old son, Zork!

Love the "praying for job, you should too" connection from your past link! and present life. Amazing....and encouraging. God knows all the hairs on our head! -LS

The dramatic, personal posts are probably the most interesting ones. Too bad they're gone :(

I like the names - I read Hannah Coulter not too long ago; very enjoyable. But thinking of your husband as a Jayber cracks me up!
